Hummus is sometimes spelled as houmous / homous / houmus / hummos
Ingredients:
- 1 large can of of chickpeas or garbanzo beans
- 1/4 cup liquid from can of chickpeas
- Juice of 2 lemons (depending on taste)
- 1/2 cup tahini (depending on taste, I like a lot of it, but you can go down to 4 or even 2 tablespoons)
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 tablespoon of ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (depending on taste)
Put all ingredients in food processor and run for 3 minutes.
The homus should be as smooth as possible. After I took this picture, I ran the processor for another 3 minutes.
Put in a plate and top with olive oil and cumin. Serve with pita bread. Enjoy!
